Dimensional analysis of the parts, molded with the established process can be done with the help of two worksheets. The first one will allow you to document a full dimensional report, where you can input all the critical and non-critical dimensions on the print.
The second worksheet will allow you to perform statistical dimensional analysis. Examples of these are shown below.
Full Dimensional Analysis
Having selected the injection speed, the next step is to determine if the cavities are balanced. A short shot with parts close to being full is molded and the different cavities are weighed. The part weights are plotted and the balance is determined.
